Our Story
The Pyjama Project was founded by Caroline Poiner, creator of Artisans of Fashion, and her lifelong friend Sam Rollins. After years of working with textile artisan communities and women’s groups in India, Caroline and Sam saw firsthand the issues plaguing the textile and fashion sector. They knew change was needed.
Our mission is simple but powerful: empower vulnerable women and girls—victims of sexual exploitation, bonded labour, poverty and domestic abuse—by providing safe, sustainable, living-wage employment. We want these women to find their voice, live with dignity, and follow their dreams.
To achieve this, we’ve designed a stunning collection of handloomed cotton and cotton-silk blend pyjamas and loungewear. The exclusive handcrafted fabrics are created by our artisan partners and tailored to perfection by our team of young women, ensuring top-notch quality and attention to detail.
We aim to build a global network of like-minded individuals to help break the cycle of poverty and exploitation. Every Pyjama Project purchase not only brings you comfort and peace but also changes lives, helping young women and girls fulfill their dreams.
Wearing beautiful pyjamas is a form of self-care, creating the right environment for peaceful sleep and rejuvenation. By supporting The Pyjama Project, you join us in believing that all people deserve to live with freedom, dignity, and opportunity.
